Homeopathic Remedies For Digestive Disorders

Homeopathic remedies are an incredibly gentle and safe way to help the body heal itself. They do not have any side effects and can be used safely alongside conventional medicine. And while many digestive disorders respond well to treatment, the key is to find a remedy that will match your symptoms the best.

Pulsatilla

Pulsatilla is one of the most well-known homeopathic remedies for digestive disorders. This remedy helps in irritable bowel syndrome, chronic constipation and diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. It is also used for swollen and painful eyes, nose and throat, bronchitis, coughing, and headaches. This remedy is a powerful antiseptic, but it can cause irritation when taken in large amounts. It is therefore best taken in small doses.

Traditionally, this homeopathic remedy is prescribed for women. It is helpful in reducing the symptoms of menstrual pain, irritability, and mood swings. It is also useful for women who are prone to PMS, hot flushes and tummy aches after rich, fatty foods like pork or ice cream.

Veratrum

Veratrum album is available in pharmacies as homeopathic tablets, drops or globules. Adults take one tablet, five globules or five drops three times daily. Children receive three globules, three drops or half a tablet per day. Infants receive two globules.

Veratrum poisoning is rare but can occur from the ingestion of a few bulbs. Symptoms of poisoning appear within 30 min to 4 h after ingestion and consist of nausea, vomiting with intense retching and profound hypotension with bradycardia and arrhythmias.

Sepia

Sepia is also a common remedy for women who experience symptoms related to the uterus or ovaries, including premenstrual syndrome (PMS), hot flashes and painful menstruation. It also helps with yeast infections and painful sexual intercourse. It may also assist with itchy skin, warts, patches of discolored or itchy skin and hair loss. Some homeopaths believe that this remedy can even relieve a woman’s brown chloasma which often afflicts women during pregnancy.

Argentum Nitricum

Argentum nitricum is a pure homeopathic remedy prepared from silver nitrate. It is a valuable remedy for nervous weakness causing trembling and coordination; it is also an excellent remedy for eye problems including dilation of the pupils in epileptic patients. It is a good homeopathic remedy for people who experience headaches due to fright or mental exertion. These headaches may be a violent onset or may come on gradually and then diminish quickly. Moreover, it is a valuable remedy for the patient who has a fear of heights and also of narrow places. This fear, combined with the fright of tunnels, gives rise to the condition known as claustrophobia.
